Manta Majesty

An Oceanic Manta (Mobula birostris) glides past the Boiler, A sea mount located in the Socorro islands (Revillagigedo Islands). There's a manta cleaning station here and these beautiful animals are happy to share their home with a few divers. It is an amazing experience to dive with such peaceful creatures.

Green turtle

A green turtle cruises over the reef at Maratua. It's always a joy to see a turtle underwater - so graceful and serine. These turtles can live to 70 or more years if they aren't killed by a boat accident or getting caught in a fishing net. Maratua, Borneo, Indonesia

My buddy moved about 6 inches too far forward and the resident bull came by to keep her in order. Hearing them bark in your ear as a warning is pretty intimidating. Los Islotes, Sea of Cortez, Baja California, Mexico

Manta and Divers

As this manta cruised past me I realized that I could frame it between the two divers. Swimming rapidly ahead of it I was able to get two images with the other divers and the manta together.

At the Channel on Maratua a large school of barracuda patrols the for food as the current blows through the narrow channel. Borneo, Indonesia

Diver in Cathedrals

E6 is one of the most fantastic dive sites in Fiji. Located in the Bligh Water E6 is a large sea mount that drops to hundreds of meters. Here a diver swims through Cathedrals, a large cut into the sea mount. What an amazing place to visit.

Reaching for the surface a section of kelp rises above the surrounding rocks as if it's grabbing the sunlight. California channel islands

The Cathedrals is a cut in that takes you into the E6 seamount. Here a diver navigates through the opening with the light streaming through the corals. Fiji, E6 seamount.

Hanging out in the shallows and watching the sealions has got to be one of the best experiences you can ever have. Sea of Cortez, Baja California, Mexico

Spadefish formation

A pack of Spadefish were swimming over the reef in front of me. I noticed a few were not in proper formation and thought it was an interesting perspective :-)
